Grounds Crew - Mixer/Loader

Roland Air Spray is looking to hire Multiple Grounds Crew - Mixer/Loader positions for the 2024 season.

Position Details

Summer employment (June – Sept -Start and Finish dates are negotiable)

 

Wages in accordance with company pay schedule and individual skills and experience.  On job training is provided.  Safety and PPE equipment is provided.  A great position if you are a student looking for summer employment, with opportunity to return in following summers. New pilots interested in AG aviation are also encouraged to apply!

 

This position is unique, exciting and requires a very dedicated, enthusiastic team player!

 

Under the direction of the Grounds Manager, this position provides ground support to the aerial operations. The work requires significant attention to detail and safety. Employee must be willing to work long and flexible work shifts.   

 

Key Responsibilities:       

  • Maintenance of the aircraft; clean windows, fuel aircraft, mix chemicals and water.

  • Ensure enough chemical and water is on hand.

  • Operate forklift -Mix and load agricultural protection products into aircraft/ground sprayer.

  • Ensure work site is cleaned up daily.

  • Ensure the needs of the Pilot are met. 

  • Ability to work long and flexible work shifts.

  • Must work well under pressure and with little or no supervision.   

Competencies:                 

  • Effective communication skills and problem-solving ability.

  • Dependable and pro-active.

  • Good interpersonal skills able to work in a team environment, as well as on your own. 

  • Results-orientated.

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license an asset but not required. 

Education/Experience: 

  • Knowledge of products being used an asset but not necessary.

  • Willingness to learn.

Summer Office Assistant

Roland Air Spray is looking to hire Summer Office Assistant for the 2024 Season.

Position Details

 

Summer employment (June – Sept -Start and Finish dates are negotiable)

 

A great position if you are a student looking for summer employment, with opportunity to return in following summers. Wages in accordance with company pay schedule and individual skills and experience.  On job training is provided.

 

Approximately 30-40 hrs per week. Afternoon, evening, and possibly weekend shifts. (Majority will be Monday-Friday.)

 

This role will be responsible for making aerial application work orders (using a web-based computer program) to customer request and communicating with the Office Manager and Agronomists.

 

Qualifications:

The position requires good communication and interpersonal skills. Answering the phone and greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner is the key to a positive first impression. The ideal candidate is reliable, has good time management skills, and is comfortable working without supervision. Must take pride in detail and accuracy, be proficient with office equipment, have above average computer skills, and be familiar with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Other duties are typical of an office administrative position including supporting other departments with their tasks as required. An agricultural background or enrollment in agricultural studies is an asset but not required.

Professional Fixed Wing Turbine Ag Pilot

Roland Air Spray is seeking a Professional Fixed Wing Turbine Ag Pilot for the 2024 spray season.

Requirements for Position;


1. A Canadian Commercial Pilots License & Manitoba Aerial Applicators License.
2. 2500 Hours of Agricultural experience of which 1000 hours must be on Turbine Air Tractor.
3. Must maintain Journey Logs following Transport Canada Guidelines.
4. Must be insurable with up to date medical
5. Be capable of operating Satloc Bantam GPS or AgNav Platinum System.
6. Proficient in English.
Will be flying newer model Air Tractor 502XP or 502B
The position runs from May 20, 2024 - Oct 15, 2024. Successful Candidate must be committed to the entire season, or have made and agreed to prior arrangements.

Job Duties are completing aerial application on fields across Manitoba, and occasionally other provinces. Must have ability to adapt to changing situations and maintain a positive attitude with customers, colleagues and supervisors. Strong Communication and problem-solving skills are a must.

Housing and vehicle provided.
Wage is $40-$60/hr. based on 8+ hours/50 hours a week. Possible Seasonal Bonus based on performance. Workers Compensation coverage provided as required by law.
